Automatic waste collection

URD Group, specialized in innovative solutions for waste collection, will be present at the 21st edition of the International Fair of Urbanism and the Environment, organized by IFEMA MADRID, which will be held from June 14 to 16, 2022 in Madrid.

In this edition, TECMA hosts a program that will provide answers to the main issues that most concern city managers. Thus making the fair a place to exchange good practices, knowledge and real experiences on a day-to-day basis, as well as being an exhibition space for the main companies in the sector.

URD Group will present different solutions linked to innovation in waste collection through the three brands

that make it up, URD-AWC, Citisend and SmafyBin. URD – Automatic Waste Collection, which provides pneumatic waste collection solutions and has a proven technology – with more than 15 years of experience – will present the contactless pneumatic collection mailbox, ‘Touchless’, which offers citizens a modern and efficient waste collection system. It improves the urban image, optimizes separation at source, reduces costs per ton collected compared to

conventional systems and offers an intelligent service 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.

From Citisend we will be launching our mechanism of closing containers and identifying users with control of citizen participation that works through a citizen application via Bluetooth and / or nfc cards. The technology also makes it possible to identify the personnel involved in the management of waste collection, detect the use of the containers and control the different contributions and the state of filling of the containers.

From SmafyBin, the intelligent solar compactor bin with total autonomy will be the protagonist. This bin is designed to make cities more sustainable and optimize resources, thus improving route planning and reducing the frequency of collection. They are designed for urban areas and spaces with a large influx of people, which allows cities to have a model of city that respects the environment, focused on the circular economy and the use of technology to improve the quality of life of people.

On the other hand, we will also present the SDR system (Deposit and Reward System) that allows the recognition of materials. This system accepts a range of containers in PET/ PE (polyethylene terephthalate), PP (Polypropylene), tetra brik, aluminum or steel with a complete fraud prevention system through the identification and classification by spectrometry of materials, with a 12-inch screen and with online connection. TECMA will address different current issues that will contribute to the revitalization of the sector, one of the most outstanding is the new law of

waste, which establishes that from July 2022 all municipalities of more than 5,000 inhabitants must have selective waste collection systems, both organic fraction and paper and cardboard, light packaging and glass. This regulation will be applicable to the rest of the municipalities from 2024. A year later this law will also apply to textile waste, used cooking oils, hazardous household waste and bulky waste.

It is also worth highlighting the importance that the new European regulatory environment is gaining, to advance in the recovery and recycling figures, and with it the development of a circular economic model.

In addition, TECMA will offer the opportunity to participate in meetings with experts on topics relevant to your business.
