This week begins in the neighborhood of Gas a pilot test of selective collection of waste through smart containers. The test, carried out with the participation of CESPA, Ros Roca and Red Ambiental, is carried out with new containers located at the intersection of the streets of Circunvalación with Abad Oliba, with which, to dump the garbage, it is necessary to use personalized cards that have previously been distributed among the nearby homes. At the same time, neighbors have also been provided with access to a mobile application that helps them open containers, communicate incidents, etc. This action is designed to improve the environmental quality of the town and help reach the selective collection objectives set by the European Union. The implementation of smart containers is one of the initiatives contemplated by the Smart City strategic plan that the City Council has recently developed with the collaboration of the Diputació de Barcelona and which aims to improve the quality of life in the municipality through new technologies.
